Rooted in the rich history of bible translation, distribution and evangelization, Hong Kong Bible Society (HKBS) began its work centuries ago through the support of the British and Foreign Bible Society, American Bible Society, Scottish Bible Society and Chinese Christian communities in translating the Chinese Union Version (CUV). Gaining immediate recognition upon its completion, China Bible House (HKBS’ predecessor) began production and distribution from their headquarters in Shanghai. In 1980s, HKBS was slated to revise the CUV and oversee the overall revision work. Collaborating with bible scholars, translator consultants and editors worldwide from various denominations, the Chinese Union 2010 (Revised Chinese Union Version) New Testament was completed in 2006, and the Old Testament in 2010.
To this day, HKBS is a globally recognized bible ministry organization and continues the bible translation, distribution and evangelization mission. In addition to ensuring the authenticity of the Chinese bible, HKBS also assists other countries in their translation works in spreading the gospel.
